The Kenya Connect 5K: Running for Education on Two Continents will wind through the beautiful Dunloggin neighborhood with over 300 runners/walkers from Howard, Baltimore, Montgomery, and Anne Arundel counties expected to be a part of the race.  The event supports Kenya Connect, a non-profit working to empower and enrich education at 55 schools in rural Kenya.  In addition to the 5K run/walk, we will have a GROOVE option (like ZUMBA) thanks to our friends at Miss Fit for those wanting another energizing activity to support Kenya Connect.  There will also be a crafts market featuring Kenyan baskets, woodcarvings, aprons, and tablecloths created by our friends in rural Kenya. A post race gathering will be held on the campus of St. John’s Episcopal Church with breakfast foods and all race participants are invited to Manor Hill Tavern for brunch/lunch post party (additional fee at Manor Hill).

We have unique prizes!  The top three male/female runners will win hand carved medallions from Kenya, gift cards and the top runner will also receive a Kenyan Carving. Top three male/female runners in all age categories will win hand carved medallions from Wamunyu.  The fastest team (top five runners on a team) will win a prize  Top Individual Fundraiser and Top Team Fundraiser will win prizes and anyone raising $500 or more will win a Kenyan basket or carving. All runners registered by March 16 are guaranteed a short sleeved tech shirt and goodie bag.  Race costs increase on March 16.
